People always found ways to fight against injustice.  The US Supreme Court gave that fight a boost when it struck down "separate but equal" in its 1954 decision in Brown v. Board of Education.  The justices were told the results of the "doll test."  Black children said the white doll was "nice" and the black doll looked "bad."  They decided segregation was harmful.
